Clare a Beau’s
A home fragrance business born from family, resilience and a need to find a little light during one of life’s biggest curveballs.
Clare a Beau’s began in 2019, at a time when life looked very different for our family.
Our son Bailey needed a stem cell transplant and I made the decision to close my previous business so I could be there to care for him. Life became appointments, hospitals and uncertainty, and somewhere amongst all of that I realised I needed something that was mine. Something creative. Something that gave me purpose away from hospital rooms and helped me switch off, even if only for a little while.
That something became Clare a Beau’s.
I began making botanical wax melts from the kitchen of our family home. What started as a creative escape quickly became a much needed form of therapy. Scent has always meant so much to me. It can completely change how a space feels, transport you back to a memory or simply make home feel a little more comforting at the end of a long day.
Over time, those first wax melts grew into a collection of luxury home fragrance, including scented candles, botanical reed diffusers, room and linen sprays, tea lights and carefully chosen pieces for the home.
Today, Clare a Beau’s is created from our beautiful workspace at Herringston Barn near Dorchester in Dorset, surrounded by rolling countryside. Every fragrance and product is chosen with the same thought that started the business in the first place: to make home feel good.
Our products are hand poured in small batches using plant based waxes and thoughtfully selected fragrance oils, with a focus on beautiful scent, considered design and more conscious choices wherever possible.
But Clare a Beau’s will always be about more than home fragrance.
It is a reminder to me of how something beautiful can grow from a difficult chapter. It gave me somewhere to put my creativity, something to look forward to and, eventually, a business I could never have imagined when I poured those very first wax melts at my kitchen table.
Family is still at the heart of everything I do, and every order that leaves the barn allows this little business to keep growing.
